Rebecca Evans was educated at the Universities of Leeds and Cambridge, where she specialized in the American Civil Rights Movement. She was elected as Assembly Member for Mid and West Wales in May 2011. Rebecca has been appointed to the Health and Social Care Committee, and the Environment and Sustainability Committee. Rebecca is Vice-Chair of the Cross Party Autism Group, and Vice-Chair of the Cross Party Group on Beer and the Pub. She is also an Officer of the Cross Party Group on Neurological Conditions, and a sponsor of the Medicines Knowledge Base Programme. A former Welsh Labour Organiser for Mid and West Wales, Rebecca has also worked as Press Officer and Researcher for Carl Sargeant AM at the National Assembly for Wales. Prior to her election she was Policy and Public Affairs Officer for the National Autistic Society Cymru.
