I beg to differ sir. Brian Moore is quite possibly the most biased (and annoying) man to ever soil the dubious annals of sports pundits. I agree that pundits should offer some individuality instead of a robotic, 'neutral' opinion. But for heavens' sake! If it ain't white with a red rose, he doesn't want to know! He is St Peter's opposite number. I have it on very good authority that upon approaching the gates of hell, mr moore is stood there with his clipboard, doing the macarena on a Welsh rugby jersey. If you want someone who tells it like it is (without letting hatred and bitterness spill out between the cracks), look no further than Jonathan Davies. If you want a drunken England rugby fan, shouting at the telly in between slugging back cans of Speckled Hen, then Moore's your man.

Thanks for the comments- I love the fact that Brian Moore is partisan. The idea of balanced commentary for the neutral is nonsense. I don't need Brian to tell me what's happening on the pitch- I want Brian;s insight around the things my eyes can't see and for that, his experience and candour is second to none.

You had me until you praised Brian Moore.

It is only if I slow the coverage down to almost freeze frame can I understand his ramblings, and even then they seem to consist of praise for the England team only rivalled by WalesHome's for Lynn Neagle, often when England are not even playing.

I wonder if they've considered a 'fans commentary' on the red button. Infinitely more enjoyable on occasion.

Much shouting in Castle Higgitt last night, predominantly aimed at Andy Townsend, and particularly his Capello theory. No, Andy, nothing to do with the slack-jawed, spoilt brats shambling around the pitch in white shirts (not that anyone would need to use colour to tell the difference between the two teams).

It reminded me of days gone past when I would watch a match with the sound turned off. Now, I don't really like doing that, as you miss the atmosphere. Surely in this HD 3D age, we can have a function that turns of this rambling stream of idiocy.

Southgate should be shot for crimes against fashion.
