“From his first ministerial job as Business Manager, through to his current role as Finance Minister in the most trying circumstances, he has shown unstinting dedication, skill and enthusiasm.
“I, of course, understand his decision to concentrate his energies on serving his Swansea West constituents for the next 16 months before going on to pursue other interests.”
The next First Minister, as befits a person with a barrister’s training, is careful with the words he deploys. There is no need for a one legged duck metaphor to convey his response to the “little local difficulty” of lunchtime.
On the upside, his hand in constructing the next Cabinet a week today is definitely freer than it was this time yesterday.
