I feel for the moderates in Israel, they have been dragged into a desperate situation by the settler movement. Sir Gerald Kaufman MP, long time Zionist and Labour's most prominent supporter of Israel, famously declared earlier this year that the Israeli state was behaving in the same way the Nazis did in occupied Warsaw. One of the most moving speeches from the UK parliament in the last year. Its welcome that the Assembly also discussed Israel's last major assault on the Palestinians, and a good quality debate was had.
