Some of us find it astounding that Brian chooses to live in Wales, when he has absolute freedom to re-locate to say Cuba or North Korea, either of which would surely be much more to his liking than the horrid welfare capitalism of present day Wales. As for poverty I would think that millions of Chinese and Russian peasants who died in the 1930s and 50s would beg to differ. I can't say I agree with all of what you said - least of all where East German shops are involved - but it is time to revisit that period, and ask what we really have gained from the so-called end of history.
