Jeff why would the wider party need to be consulted further on the issue when they have already voted by a whopping majority to honour a pledge to see a referendum delivered before 2011?

Daran before you get excited by the the report you might read an interesting article by Danny Finkelstein in the Times on focus groups. I thought the answer by one participant to the question 'Name a prominent Jew in British Life ' of 'Whoopi Goldberg' was priceless. The simple fact of the matter is that the Jones-Parry report hasn't moved the debate on more powers foward by one inch. This morning he even stated that the Commission had not recommended a date when any referendum should be held. He quite rightly pointed out that this was an issue for the politicians. The ball is now very much in the AMs court. For Labour AMs to support any motion in the New Year to hold a referendum in the autumn of 2011 then many would argue that the wider Party has to be consulted again on this issue.
