Carwyn key backers explain their support
Labour leadership race — By Daran Hill on November 22, 2009 7:57 amWITH JUST days to go before the ballot closes, Carwyn Jones’ campaign returns to a theme where it began all those weeks ago – the number, range and quality of senior endorsements provided to his person and his campaign.
Today Carwyn puts out a campaign video which contains a range of personal endorsements from some of his key supporters:
- Carl Sargeant AM, Alyn & Deeside
- John Griffiths AM, Newport East
- Councillor Huw David, Ogmore CLP
- Chris Bryant MP, Rhondda
- Ian Lucas MP, Wrexham
- Mark Tami MP, Alyn & Deeside
- Paul Flynn MP, Newport West
The gender balance may not be great, but the selection of names certainly is if the intention is to demonstrate a range of support from different wings of the party and different parts of Wales. And some of these names are very influential indeed.

Carwyn is just another grey politician, he does not inspire me. Don’t Welsh Labour realise why membership is falling so quickly?
