Campaign 2.0
Labour leadership race — By Daran Hill on November 6, 2009 10:30 amWEB SURFERS will have noticed two of the leadership campaigns have refreshed their internet presence this week. And both look much slicker for it.

Carwyn Jones' new look campaign website
They’ve even sent us through a new video to look at too, which has got a nice voiceover and some attractive images as well as cuts from a speech from the Labour Party’s recent conference.
Huw Lewis had hit the ground running with his first site, but the visual revamp is a step foward.

Huw Lewis - more than a screen refresh
Clearly the restyling is inviting has been done for a purpose. The biog of Huw and the clever Mythbusters feature have been relegated down the site. The stress now is on the campaign and the ideas underpinning it.
The new strapline is clever too. Out goes “Let Labour be Labour” and in comes the dynamic “Changing Labour, Changing Wales“.
And we like the reference to WalesHome.org on the news feed too…
No big changes to Edwina Hart’s site though – perhaps her team is more confident in the original structure they came up with.
But there is something new to look at – a nice new video. The camera’s still busy in the Hart-land. New backers unveiled include Sue Perkins, the leader of the Labour Group on Pembrokeshire County Council, and former Assembly Member Christine Gwyther. A member from Neath goes as far as to compare the current Health Minister with perhaps her most illustrious predecessor…
The brass band was a nice change though.

By “slick” I presume you mean “Superficially attractive or plausible but lacking depth or soundness:”
Two are okay and one (Huw’s) appears to be designed for people who like to sit a few yards away from their PCs.
It ain’t flash without Flash.
Not being a member of the Labour party I don’t have a vote in this one. Your coverege is, as ever, brilliant.
I like the ‘Changing Labour. Changing Wales’ strapline – though to change it mid-stream seems a bit odd.
And what to make of Christine Gwyther’s support for Edwina. Could it be because she thinks there’s no meat in her campaign?!
