A different sort of Halloween event – come along

YOURS truly is chairing an important event in Cardiff on Saturday, 31st October, at the Old Library in Trinity St between 3pm and 5pm.

December 2009 could well be make-or-break for efforts to tackle climate change. The climate talks in Copenhagen may or may not reach a fair and sufficient international agreement to cut carbon emissions.

Cardiff Friends of the Earth is organising Trick or Treat – a Question-Time style event for the people of Cardiff to ask questions about what they want to see happen. It’s a great opportunity for the people of Cardiff to quiz their politicians about the issues.

Speakers will include:

  • Raoul Bhambral, Cardiff Friends of the Earth
  • Jenny Willott, Liberal Democrat MP for Cardiff Central
  • Karen Robson, Conservative prospective parliamentary candidate for Cardiff Central
  • Jenny Rathbone, Labour prospective parliamentary candidate for Cardiff Central
  • and a representative from Plaid Cymru.
  • Cardiff Friends of the Earth wants a Treat – a fair deal that genuinely puts the brakes on carbon emissions. They don’t want an agreement that includes carbon off-setting. This is a business-as-usual Trick and won’t lead to real emission cuts.
